Description
This is a pencil sketch from the garage scene in the movie Twilight. Alice & Jasper have offered to take Bella south to protect her from James. This scene is where Edward is telling her good bye. This is the screen capture of the moment he says "Bella, you are my life now."
It took a lot less time than I expected it to when I started it considering how long the cafeteria scene took me. This is my 2nd real attempt at a background. It looks like a really simple, easy one but it wasn't. Also for the record facial expressions are still reeeeeeeelly tough to get right. I hope I did the characters/actors justice. I also hope you like it. ^_^
This is sketch is originally 6 1/2 x 10 inches & is my second entry for =witchi1976's Twilight fan art contest.
Edit: Someone asked me about the vertical "lines" that show up in some of the shading. That is due to the type of paper in my current sketch book. Unfortunately I've been banned from buying any more sketch books until I completely fill the one I'm using at the moment. Sigh.

Since you studied this quite a bit while making it, think about how you would go about creating a photograph of the same scene. How many lights would you need? I'd say at least three, each at different intensities: The key is from the left front, but there has also to be a fill coming from the right and another coming from above and behind to bring out the hair. Plus probably yet another on the background.
